Webinar: Maximizing Agriculture to Enhance Nutrient Composition to Better Fulfill Dietary Recommendations
January 30 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The National Academies Standing Committee on Evidence Synthesis and Communications in Diet and Chronic Disease Relationships will host a virtual public workshop to explore the upstream changes in agriculture and food production with the potential to help the public better meet nutrition requirements and dietary guidelines.
Jan. 30, 2024 | 9 am – 1 pm CT
Sessions will address questions including:
- What strategies exist to enhance human nutrition through improvements in crop and animal quality?
- In future dietary recommendations, which, if any, food quality or nutrient density issues should be reconsidered?
- How are animals being fed and raised, and what are the impacts on nutrient density and quality?
- What agricultural technology and other approaches are currently being explored and developed to enhance human nutrition?
- What are the multi-scale challenges to enhancing human nutrition, and what needs to be done in agriculture moving forward to create sustainable ways of enhancing human nutrition?
