SUMMARY:SD Cancer Plan 2021-2025 Feedback Session
DESCRIPTION:The SD Department of Health Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and SD Cancer Coalition invite you to be a part of shaping the future of cancer prevention and control in South Dakota as we update the SD Cancer Plan for 2021-2025. A SD Cancer Plan advisory committee has developed a draft SD Cancer Plan 2021-2025 based on the current cancer plan 2015-2020. The updated plan draft reflects feedback garnered through a partner survey\, key informant interviews\, and best practice review and incorporates key priorities\, current data\, and evidence-based practices. \nThe SD Cancer Plan 2021-2025 provides a framework for action and a collaborative road map for organizations and individuals in all sectors and regions of South Dakota to reduce the burden of cancer. Dedication and collaboration are essential to achieve the goals and objectives identified within the plan. The plan consists of 12 priority areas\, which correspond to the six overarching plan goals. To ensure progress\, the plan also outlines measurable objectives for each priority area. The plan is intended to reach adolescents and adults across all races and socioeconomic levels\, as well as target priority populations who face a disparate proportion of the cancer burden. The plan focuses on evidence-based strategies but does not include activity level information to ensure the plan remains relevant and adaptable. The plan is a living document with modifications and mid-course revisions occurring as identified by stakeholders during its implementation. \nA feedback session to review and discuss the core content of the SD Cancer Plan 2021-2025 will be held on Monday\, July 20th from noon-1pm CT. You can register for the zoom meeting using this link. \nIf you are not able to participate in the live session\, you can provide your feedback on the draft SD Cancer Plan 2021-2025 by completing a feedback survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SDCancerPlan. Survey responses are requested by July 22nd.
