Health Equity Webinar: Understanding the Perspectives of Lung Cancer Screening Among Latinos
In the United States, lung cancer is one of the most common cancers and it kills more people than any other type of cancer. Racial/ethnic populations are disproportionally affected by lung cancer as they are less likely to be diagnosed early and receive adequate treatment.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among Latino men and the second leading cause among Latinas (after breast cancer). Lung cancer screening can help to detect the disease earlier when the treatment can be successful and dramatically improve survival rates.
Join the Nuestras Voces Network and the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) for a webinar that will present the results of a qualitative study looking at the perspectives of lung cancer screening among Latinos. This study will inform the development of an intervention to increase lung cancer screening in the Latino community.
